ETERNITY SEEKS TO GIVE BIRTH TO ITSELF. (Art by Hallelujah Truth, Words by Karen Phillips) |
#REVERB12:Day 7 Prompt: What's the one thing you want to take with you into 2013?
One thing I will most
certainly TAKE WITH ME into 2013 is gathering with the SPIRITUAL ART PILGRIMS
every three weeks to "EXPERIENCE" our ART through dramatics, movement, voice,
art making, and play.
The SPIRITUAL ART PILGRIMS is a group I founded
with fellow artists Robey Tapp, Cecelia Kane, and Sally Wylde several years ago
as a way to delve deeper into our SOULS, ARTMAKING, and FRIENDSHIP.
Just yesterday, the
SPIRITUAL ART PILGRIMS met and among our art sharing and soul exploring, we
played with me current stream of work. On a large oak table, I spread out more
than twenty of my drawings resulting from the daily practice of drawing
something “new” every day (you see two of them here in this blog entry).
I asked us each to write
down five random nouns as we looked at my work illustrating PILGRIMAGE and
BEING and then to perform a poem or story using those nouns. Below are the
miracles of sharing that resulted:
Karen Phillips, a newer
member of the SPIRITUAL ART PILGRIMS expressed these nouns--eternity,
birth, ocean, existence, deliverance—in this way:
Eternity seeks to give birth to itself to experience its own
existence.
Through an ocean of love and light, it witnesses its own deliverance.
Through an ocean of love and light, it witnesses its own deliverance.
RELEASE ME LIKE LIGHT FROM A SUPERNOVA. (Art by Hallelujah Truth, Words by Cecelia Kane) |
Cecelia Kane used these
nouns, cloak, supernova, space-time, gypsy, mother, and delivered this poem:
Oh gypsy mother
Spread your cosmic cloak
Across the universe.
Wrap me in your mantle
Of space and time.
Release me like light
From a supernova
Exploding in your arms.
This is what, I Hallelujah
Truth, created with the nouns: explosion, gift, embrace, presence, universe—
Welcome to my universe. I
share with you the gifts I have created from the explosion of my presence of
being here now. I invite you into my embrace.
Thank you SOUL BLOGGERS
for being with me here. That’s Coffee With Hallelujah! SOUL BLOG with me and

I'll be carrying my interest in digging holes into the new year, and conversely an interest in images and performances about wings. I have revived a kids' story i wrote about a cat with wings, and on my easel and walls are test drawings for five new paintings of abstracted wings. This week I began creating small sculptural holes, tunnels and burrows that complement similar "hole' drawings.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about this 3-D direction. I will continue my weekly practice of creating a self-portrait drawing of a feeling I have, and my bi-monthly creation of quilted vintage hankies that are also portraits. Can't wait for 2013!
